Brett Robertson is a seasoned teacher with 11 years of experience in the Douglas County School System. Mr. Robertson began his teaching career at Lithia Springs High School where he taught Science and served as the Science Department Chair. Brett Robertson joined the Douglas County Performance Learning Center in August of 2015 and was awarded teacher of the year for the 2015-2016 school year. Mr. Robertson is a highly qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Kennesaw State University and a Master of Education Degree in Accomplished Teaching from Valdosta State University. His drive at the PLC is to ensure that when students graduate from the program they have a resume, completed the SAT, ACT or ASVAB exam if applicable, and have a goal for what they want to accomplish after graduation. One of Mr. Robertson’s favorite quotes to use in the classroom is “Everybody is a genius…but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid” by Albert Einstein.
Apart from loving what he does as an educator, Brett Robertson is also a family man who loves to spend time with his wife Heather Robertson (who is also a science teacher in Carroll County) and two boys, Luke who is 5 years old and Noah who is 3 years old. One of Mr. Robertson’s favorite hobbies is building furniture. His favorite pastime is going on camping trips with his family.
