Peter Young considers himself a native Georgian after relocating to South Georgia with his family while he was still a toddler, although technically born in Delaware.  He received his Bachelor’s Degrees in Applied Mathematics and Education in 2002 from Valdosta State University and his Master’s Degree in Applied Statistics in 2012 from Kennesaw State University.  He started his teaching career in the Atlanta area in 2003.  He first taught middle school math and advanced content algebra and geometry in Cobb County before moving to Banneker High School, teaching math in the Fulton County School System.  After venturing to Monroe County, Florida from 2006 to 2008, where he taught at the high school level, Young returned to Georgia to teach in Douglas County.  He came to the Performance Learning Center and Success Center by way of Lithia Springs High School and is completing his eleventh year in the Douglas County School District.
