Mr. Rountree is a proud 1998 graduate of Lithia Springs High School. After High school, Mr. Rountree attained his bachelor’s degree from the University of West Georgia. Mr. Rountree holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Jacksonville State University, and an Educational Specialist degree from Piedmont College.

In 2003, Mr. Rountree obtained a teaching position within the Douglas County School System. He began his career at Lithia Springs High school where he taught social studies, coached golf and tennis, and was the voice of the Lions’ football team. In 2011, he transferred to Douglas County High School where he also coached boy’s tennis. Mr. Rountree’s coaching career spanned 13 seasons combined, including 5 state tournament appearances between both schools.

In 2012, Mr. Rountree was offered a unique educational role within our county when he joined the staff at the Performance Learning Center. At the PLC he has been able to help students from all types of backgrounds attain a High School diploma when it might not have been possible. Mr. Rountree feels that working at the PLC has been the greatest educational gift of his career. Mr. Rountree has been able to see students, who were not successful in a traditional environment come to the PLC and flourish. Mr. Rountree loves his job at the PLC because it allows him to establish positive relationships with students in a way where he knows he is making an impact on their lives.
